Hangin' With the Dishes

As part of the Week 3 question, we are supposed to trot out our stash. Thank goodness it is only limited to dishcloth yarn, because that I can haul out and photograph in a snap.

So I decided, since I have such a limited amount of stash to at least dress it up a bit, since after it is knit, it is destined to a life of wiping plates and cleaning counters.

It is sort of a kick to get my knitting redirected, (with the wool ban and all) and I went back to my roots and knit the Grandma Dishcloth that so many of us did as our first knitting project.

The pastel colored one with the lacy rib is Textured Ribs, from the Nifty Knit Dishcloths booklet by Leisure Arts. I really like the Mini Cables Cloth in this booklet as well. The one I am currently working on is Bonbons et Calissons Dishcloth by SmarieK Knits. I'm using the Lion Brand Organic Cotton, and worked my first bobbles last night.

Though I am sort of shy about showing my bobbles in public, I thought you might like a sneak peek.

Or maybe I should rename this photo, KnittingGirl Gone Wild, because . . . well . . . I'll let you figure that out for yourself.

Some cute stuff there, Elizabeth. I went to A.C. Moore the other day and laid in a goodly supply of Lily's Sugar & Cream. I made 1 dish cloth as a thank you gift for a DIL who let us have extended family Christmas at her house this year. Various family members saw it and requested one of their very own. Female family members. I guess that goes without saying, huh? No guy would ask for such a thing.

So, I've been knittig up dish cloths in various patterns. All of which I've found free on the Internet and 1 dish cloth booklet.

Is the wool ban permanent? I hope it's just a passing thing for your sake. Maybe you could learn to knit while wearing latex gloves. After all, surgeons perform delicate surgery while wearing them.

LOL... thanks for bringing a smile to my face! I just love the baubles! I like the lacy knit cloth, too. I've been knitting some but using them as wash cloths. Kind of a little treat in the shower, KWIM? It's the little things in life that I love!
