Summer Knitting

I'm afraid my knitting production slows to a crawl during the summer. As you can see, I've gone up another buttonhole since my last report in. That's the problem with knitting a sweater from the bottom up, the bottom half takes SO long.

Besides, I have the worst time picking up my needles when the sun is shining late into the evening. I was knitting yesterday in 80 degree sunshine at my son's baseball game and this other woman commented that it was just too hot to knit. And since it was my Lucy sweater and it is getting rather big, I sorta agreed with her. But the Lucy is a great project for when you don't want to have to think too hard about a pattern repeat and just want to knit.

Yet my lack of Lucy progress could also be in part because I've been swatching. Here is one for a sweater I want to do out of the Classic Elite Summer Knits pamphlet.

Of course after I uploaded the photo, I realized that I'd photographed the wrong side of the swatch.

But I did get the right side of this:

And it isn't really a swatch, but the actual back of the baby sweater. I don't know about you, but I don't swatch baby sweaters. The cool part about babies--they can always grow into it, no matter the gauge.

I got these done at one of Matthew's appointments--listening to the back episodes of Stash and Burn, a knitting podcast. I found Nicole and Jenny vastly entertaining, and my swatching and waiting time just flew by. I now count myself as addicted. So to the rest of you, I pose this question: Which podcasts do you listen to and why?
